Walk The Talk club is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs, currently with over 16,000 clubs and 350,000 members around the world.

The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, receiving feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, Toastmasters learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback – and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

Walk The Talk meets on the 2nd and 5th Wednesday of every month in Zurich. The 2nd Wednesday is a regular meeting. Since 2021, we have held hybrid meetings, with members and guests joining from across Switzerland and around the world.

When there is one, the 5th Wednesday is when we host workshops or special meetings. These are currently online-only, on Zoom.

Join us at any future meetings and find out what we are all about!
Just sign up via WTT Meetup Group.

What can you expect at our regular club meetings?

Speeches: We typically have 1-3 prepared speeches per meeting. Most of these are Pathways projects – Pathways is the Toastmasters educational program, through which members progress through projects geared to their goals. Examples include Presentation Mastery, Team Collaboration, and Engaging Humor. More information: Pathways

Evaluations: There’s a little more meat in our sandwich approach! Speakers get not only the standard 2-3 minute oral evaluation and written evaluations from the audience members, but also a round-robin evaluation, in which most or all attendees offer their analysis, perspectives, and suggestions for improvement. This approach gives all members the impetus to up our game, both as speakers and as evaluators.

Table Topics: We like to mix it up with the Table Topics as well, whether that’s with pairs of speakers, restrictions on wording, or evaluation of the Table Topics speeches. A Toastmaster must be ready for anything!

Educational Sessions & Workshops: When the month has a 5th Wednesday, we put it to use with a special meeting dedicated to one specific educational session or workshop. Previous workshops have included an Evaluation Extravaganza and Learning From the Best, a look at what makes the World Championship of Public Speaking speakers so good.
